Holiday car washing

I normally set off on holiday with a cleaned and waxed car but we are once again heading off to Germany.

The car usually comes home after three weeks of holiday in a filthy state because I have never seen a car wash other than the brush auto wash and I don't fancy that idea.

Any ideas?

Germany is full of self service car washes which is what I use. Bring my own mitts etc anyway.

I suppose I haven't looked in previous years! Is that the pressure wash / jet wash type?

Just put the mitt and the drying cloth* in the car and use those instead of the horrible harsh brushes.

Nice to come back and the car is semi presentable!! :D

Yes - multi purpose ones, self wash with Jet and a low pressure hose as well.

I generally use those in the winter months, so foam / hose the car, then was with the low pressure hose and not dry it.

Thanks for that info pvr, the car might come home cleaner than usual.
I gave the car a good old wash and polish last year and went to an air show and parked on a stubble field . The car got damp overnight and it looked filthy for the next three weeks or more !

Not just on Holiday, keep a few cleaning products in the boot all the time. Polishing mitt, cleaning mitt, Leather wipes, bird s##t wipes, baby wipes & a drying towel. That way all you need is soap and water for a quick rinse, while out and about anywhere. May be my OCD, but if we drive up to Kent to visit friends, I clean the car as soon, as we get there, weather permitting.

(Sad I know.) :D
