Hiya! newbie with z4 and a fault

Hey all

owner off a Z4 2.2 manual. owned for 2 weeks. ill add some pic's when ive done enough posts.

i didn't join just to ask about the fault it just seems to co-inside?

bought this over an Audi tt in the end. as so far im happy with the decision. looking forward to doing slight mods and enjoying the Z4

fault that has occurred.

passenger door lock sometimes works and sometimes not when the opened with key? id guess a crappy solenoid starting to fail? can i buy one from the breakers and just fit it? or does
it need to be reprogrammed by BMW?

I think its an omen going here... mine developed a fault 2 days later and stopped on the motorway! haha!

As for the door... mine does this sometimes, tracked it back to the GM5 module.. loads of info on here about it. I found that it happened a lot in extreme heat or extreme cold. Not that I would recommend this violent fix, but I did find that repeatedly hitting the lock/unlock button next to the handbrake was enough to get the door unlocked, as the handle doesn't open from the inside when its still locked!

I looked a bit of a d!ck at the petrol station having to lower the roof so the mrs could get in the first time it happened! haha!
