Hi All,

Just got the Mrs a Z4, nice, clean, 3.0 liter SE, just the job!!

Now when she picked the car up she was handed a BMW pouch with puncture repair stuff in it, nice touch we think!

Now when she goes to BMW to get a new key she asks the nice man if she has run flats,

So out pops Mr BMW service only to find she has brand new but the cheapest, nasty, tyres ever to come out of a third world country!!

SO......in to our local tyres depot and four new Yokohamas and 600 quid later and i feel the Mrs will be safe!

Why do some car dealers fit such crap?

And another thing, 130 quid for a new key? and 30 mins labour from bmw to program it!! wtf!!

rant over!! its still a great car!! :D

£130 for a key, or is that including programming it? Normally they are £70 and program it yourself :D

Dealers always go for the cheapest route, shame but bridgestone runflats are expensive, and if they can say £500 they will.

If you object to s**t tyres, you would have still had to tear them off and replace them - Bridgestone Runflats are awful horrible things.

They make good tyre-swings in the garden though

There are numerous threads on here about members replacing the rft's with Falken 452 or similar to improve ride, tram lining and comfort, what was the make that you took off?

Would also be interested to know if you put the Yokohoma run flats on, if so what are they like ride wise?

I have been in a 1 series with runflats, and they were actually very good. Not bridgstones but cant for the life remember what they were

But someone must have developed a fairly good one by now. IIRC bridgestone have re-vamped theres i think.
