Racking up miles i never expected with this car :driving: previous weekenders have done 2k/3k a year .
ive covered over 2k in 4 months & earlier today tripped 80k on a blatt over to the Fylde coast with mrs w
This car has me under its spell & the exhaust fitted last week has really added a cherry to the cake
For those who know the area we had a picnic at Pilling Sands then up to Glasson Dock for a coffee at The Mill on Conder Green before hitting my favourite trail back over the Bowland Fells via Jubilee Tower into the Ribble Valley

Looking good Mr Wilks
We found ourselves having to increase the estimated mileage on the zed after its first year - they are a bit addictive :)

Funny you should say that, as I'm sat on 79,600 after today. I also declared 5k per annum to my insurance company in January and I've had the car 6 months and already done 3k locally , with a few more larger trips still on the Horizon !

Looks like you had a good day out there Mr Wilks although there certainly appears to have been more sunshine down South today, looking at your pictures.

I meant to ask when i saw you, Whats the story behind your Reg No ?

I do love those wheels — they look nice and moody in that light

The mikes on mine are going to reduce I think, new job and a train commute every day.... But that means mist of the miles will be smiles :D

It was a cheap plate i bought about 10 yrs ago (£200) that had my initials AW in & i kinda liked the way the Ys matched at each side :?
The weather yesterday was really poor & today kicked off the same so heading to the coast tends to find the blue sky but i'm afraid there was none

Ive insured on 5k  that clearly aint gonna work as there's a 1250/1500 mile Normandy jaunt on the cards for October

Ahh I see. I spent an afternoon following you and trying to work it out. I thought YAWLEY YAWSEY, YAWSAY, etc and thought I was missing something obvious ! It certainly looks better than a standard plate and hides the true age.

I couldn't be happier with the CS Lite alloys , they are 2 wheels for the price of one .
When ive cleaned the car they show as shiny hi chrome but rack some miles up & don't clean them & you get the above "moody" appearance .
With any previous alloys ive always washed them almost daily but i now find myself occasionally washing the car & leaving the wheels then for a change i wash them & they look as below

Sounds like you had a great drive out Mr wilks, sorry we couldn't make it this time. Like yourself and others I keep piling on the miles; odometer has already ticked over the 38k mark and is fast approaching 38.5k - I only bought the car at beginning of June with 36.5k on the clock. I thought 10k miles per year for insurance on a weekend car would be more than enough, but of course had no idea how addictive they are to drive. :driving:

Is that rear plate slightly oversized or is it an optical illusion?

No illusion , it was originally a oversized custom shaped plate from a Lexus Sportcross many years ago .
I squared it off & quite liked the oversizeness & also no lettering so kept it
