Higher mileage service checks

Hi all.
I have a new to me E85 that a mate has had in the shop for a few weeks bringing it back to life.
It’s had bodywork and cosmetic updates and now looks good as new.
My concern now lies with the mechanical side of it.
It’s had a full oil and filter swap, but not transmission oil, as well as having spark plugs done.
The car has 120k on the clock.
Given the mileage, what should I be getting checked? Water pump, serpentine belt? Vanos? Anything else?
Is there a way to tell if they have been replaced ‘recently’?

I bought it with a lack of paperwork, so it’s a bit of a guessing exercise.

Thanks all

Do the above that you mention, gearbox and diff, may need a brake fluid change, then look at suspension an the bushes

Plus:
Camcover gasket. Any oil leaks/seepage/smell?
Ccv system. It will definitely fail at that mileage if it hasnt been replaced previously. Fiddly job but worth doing anyway as it will strand you if it fails.
DISA. Remove, inspect/replace gasket. Check for play in the flap as well as correct function by winding back to open position, place your finger over the small breather hole. If it doesnt hold position then replace.
Brake line corrosion on rear lines.
Icv. Gve it a good clean. Hold upside down, spray carb cleaner in. Twist shake to check the impeller moves freely.

All of the abve are documented here and on youtube.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve had a good look through the how to section and will certainly look at doing some of this myself.
Other bits however, may be worth me letting garage look at. I’m not too mechanically minded.

Thanks again!
