been like this since i bought the car but never really bothered me.

if i push down on the rear wheel arch, theres a squeak.

same squeak happens when i park on a hill, apply the handbrake and then take my foot off the brake pedal.

also happens when i get in/out of the car.

any ideas?

Happens on mine, I think it's the spring but not had the wheel off to check, perhaps a rubber boot has slipped a bit. Just figured it was me being a fat boy stressing the suspension tbh :P

Had exactly the same on my 06 - apparently it's the handbrake, perfectly normally according to BMW... My Indy fixed it by lubricating something, but said it would return which it did 6 months later so I just lived with it...

That's interesting - I must go check if it happens with the handbrake off...

cheers, it does seem like it's the handbrake. it's rather annoying when i get out in a carpark and the squeak happens. also as my driveway is on an incline, everytime i pull up and put the handbrake on, then release the brakes, it happens.

wonder what needs lubricating?

also, my handbrake is pretty weak and needs a got few 'clicks' up to hold the car steady.

just went out to check.

pushed down on the o/s rear wing with the handbrake on and it squeaked.

removed the handbrake, then done the same.

no squeak 8)

will have to get that checked next time i go to the indy.

everything i touch i seem to break  think i'll ask my good old dad as he's done everything else.

Dads are good at this kinda thing. I miss mine wish he has still around. Luckily for me I have 2 older brothers who help out. I bet your old man loves doing it and spending time with ya. Don't forget to take him for a beer every now and then
