Agree with Busterboo. The best thing you can do is forget all the above, take it out of the garage and drive it.

Drove to West Durham yesterday to Hamsterley Forest which was an 80 mile round trip which also included a 4 mile walk. Beautiful scenery and sunny day, most of the drive with the top down.

Much better than having the old girl stuck in the garage. 8)

Check if your insurance covers you whilst sorned, strange as it may seem a lot don't.

And the ones who specify that they do cover a sorned vehicle add a good old cost for the privilege!

I have put four squares of old carpet on the garage floor for the tyres to sit on. I heard that sitting on cold concrete can damage tyres over long periods.
I leave the handbrake off and the car unlocked. Then I just put the trickle charger on for a day every couple of weeks. They use virtually no battery charge like that.
And a few mouse traps around the car. If they decide to nest inside the car they can cause havoc!

A friend of mine runs a taverna in Skiathos during the summer months. When the season ended she returned to her home in Worcester and thought she'd check the oil and water before driving anywhere as the car had been stood still all summer. She lifted the bonnet and almost collapsed in shock as a fox jumped out of the engine bay and ran off. The car is now the subject of an insurance claim because the fox had chewed through the wiring in the engine bay!
