I joined the forum a while before i got my zed, just to have a nose around and see what sort of little mods you can do and any known problems. Great forum, always seems to be somebody around to help

Anyhow heres my zed i bought at the weekend, made sure i had pics before i posted :P already removed the silly french fries 8)

She's a 2005 3.0 SE manual, red m-sport heated leather and so on, the pics say the rest.
Only thing extra i would have wanted is cruise control, i heard it can be fitted, is it an expensive mod?
Ive read bits and bobs about the CDV but couldn't find a guide when i searched, so if sombody could point me in that direction it would be great

Also plan on ditching the run flats when the tyres need changing and the customary stubby! :D and maybe black headlights and grill but not sure if it will look too much on a black car

Lovely. I love the red leather and think that is what i will go for when I get round to getting my own Z4. The only thing i remember from reading about the CC retrofit was, a Z4 up to the age of 2005?? 'had' the bit of wiring loom needed? and the newer ones didn't?

What is french fries?

welcome..... there is a section on fitting cruise in the how to section.. not plug and play for yours and you would need a cable and a bit of fiddling to fit

Welcome. I too wanted cruise, so have bought the kit (switch + loom = £96) and will be fitting it this weekend. Hopefully shouldn't take too long.

Like you I have the dreadful runflats, with loads of tread on them, so will 'endure' the crap ride for a whil and then go to proper tyres.

Unlike the masses, I'm quite happy with my aerial and won't be getting a 'stubby'. Or driving with my fog lights on!

Although 05 is unlikely to be plug and play it would be worth checking the build date to be sure.

excuse my ignorance but how would i do that, and what date did it stop being a plug and play job? thanks

Fitted my cruise this morning. Fairly easy, and you don't need all of the bits in the loom kit. Just need to borrow a dremel now to cut out the slot in the plastic cowling (which is pre-marked).

Hello and welcome... nice seats! Car looks great... I'm sure you'll enjoy both the car and the forum! :driving:
