Nice to join the forum. My son and I got back from 2 weeks in Switzerland in the M Sport Z4 at the end of August - awesome time on some spectacular passes and incredible scenery. I was very happy that I'd gone for an automatic - one less thing to think about while driving on the right with some challenging roads. The manual override option was great for steep descents. Economy was around 40 mpg over the whole trip which surprised me. I'd ditched the Bridgestone runflats in favour of Michelin Sports when I had discovered cracks in the rear wheels at the last MOT, and we managed almost 2000 miles without any punctures - I was relieved not to have to resort to the puncture repair kit. The only disappointment was the French speeding ticket that arrived last week - I'm waiting for more as some people say they can come months later. I was planning to pay it but I'd be interested in anyone else's experience.

Hi and welcome.
'spectacular passes' - 'incredible scenery' ???
May I be the first to point out that photos are 'de rigeur' here. :poke: :D

Good luck with the French fines.

Hi and welcome from a fellow Berkshire resident.

It sounds like you had a fantastic trip so we'd love to see some photos - including one of your Z4!

Hi and welcome. Whereabouts in Berkshire are you?
Also, what Zed do you have? Sounds like a good trip. Photos welcome. :driving:

Thanks everyone.. I have to admit my photos weren't so great, but here's a few of the scenery

I'm in Reading... just to add a better photo. I'd be interested to know where others near Reading have their servicing done. Cheers

I’m in Wokingham so not far away and my car looks almost the same!

I’ve just had the brakes done by RBM in Fleet and I would recommend them!

Nice to make contact Lazza - car looks pristine. Are those 18 or 19 inch wheels? I don't know what the roads around Wokingham are like at the moment but Reading roads are so pot-holed now it's really painful to drive in town. The M-sport suspension is awesome on cornering but pretty unforgiving on rough roads. Reading Council claims they are going to spend a few million on them soon so I'm going to start lobbying for my road!

Wokingham has more roadworks than anywhere in the country, especially Finchampstead where I live!
My wheels are 19” and they are the infamous Style 296, famed for cracking but I’ve only had one damaged and that was from an enormous pothole. Ride is fine though as I got rid of the run flats. If yours still has them, get rid as that will be most of the cause of the hard ride.

Hi Lazza - I had the same experience - failed the MOT last year with 3 cracks on the rears. I bought a set of 17 inch second hand that I used to get through the MOT and then for the rest of the winter while I had the wheels repaired and changed the tyres. I think the ride is smoother but it wasn't much better on the concrete section of the M25 - that is painful.
