Help... Z4M-R Dead!!

Ok... so I went to use the M at the weekend (first time in about 5 weeks and last trip was a 100 mile hack round the countryside so not a short journey) and it was dead. Didn't think too much of it as was in a hurry so just went out in the 118d instead.

This evening, wanted to take the car out for a spin again, so went to have a further look. Ignition still dead, no lights on the dash whatsoever. Get the jump leads out, connect her up to the 1 series... still absolutely nothing. Not even a hint of illumination of any of the dash lights. This is strange I think... maybe a fuse has blown... reach over to the passenger door to unlock it (central locking not working as no juice)... but I can't get in! The passenger door will not open.

So now I'm stuck in the scenario that I can't easily get to the fuse box without contorting myself in through the drivers seat. I'm getting nothing when connected up to my 118d trying to jump start and I live in a block of flats with communal parking, so can't even get a battery charger out to it. The car has been parked up under a car cover for the last approx 5 weeks, locked only on the key and not alarmed as I knew it was secure and wasn't going to be used.

I've had a quick search, but nothing popped up right away.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it likely to be a case of just a goosed battery? Or am I looking at something more serious?

Help guys!!!

Sorry I can't help, but it's nice to see someone proper local on here (Sidcup).

How old's the car? Could be a totally duff battery, any signs of damage to the battery why trying to jump?

The passenger door won't open from the inside though? Not even when you've pulled the handle twice? (once to dis-engage lock, the second time to open the door)?

Sounds like a dead battery.... You have recovery? Get them to check the battery.

Just been out and tried the door again, when I pull the handle, the button pops, but when I release the handle it goes back down again!

Am just checking to see if I'm covered for home-start now...

I've got a mains battery charger and tools to get the battery out if you want to borrow it?

Is that door lock returning down some sort of anti theft thing? Weird.
