Help with purchase

Apologies to Mods if not a correct post in this thread. :?

Not really a real Buy or sell item but more looking for a service which i am of course willing to pay for. looking to buy a couple of Leather Z4 seats and door panels off ebay but they are pick up only. Was wondering if by any chance anyone living in or around Welwyn Garden City who was by any chance coming to Scotland or North England and had space to fit these in. I know it sounds a bit Cheeky but never know if some one is coming up with an empty van and wants to make a bit of pocket money. :)

I have never bought anything off ebay before (yes a virgin :oops: ) so not really sure how it works when it's pick up only, only two ways i see around that are to pick em up myself (don't have time or really a vehicle with the space ) OR pay someone to do it for me. if no one can help i would value some advice on how to get em up here.
 
Organise a courier to pick them up for you, make sure with the seller this is ok beforehand mind.

Nosa - I know the seats you are looking at. If you're an ebay virgin expect a few surprises. The seats will sit at a low price until minutes before the end and may then jump up. In the last 6 seconds the automated bidding engines will cut in and take it to the max that people wish to pay so you may just end up wondering wtf happened there??

You can try bidding near the time but to some extent this reveals your hand to others, or use a bidding agent yourself such as esnipe.

Good luck and btw - I use paisley too as they are cheap and excellent.
 
Used Paisley last year for wheels from Yorks to London - good service and everything arrived in one piece. :thumbsup:

bein honest i am a bit Trepadacious (love that word) about buying off ebay, have heard some horror stories. will keep an eye on them see what happens and attempt a last minute bid if still within my budget. If i dont get them no biggy. :)

Sounds a bit like playing poker. I love Poker, terrible player. but love it. :roll:
 
"Trepidatious" means confused
"trepid" means fearful or apprehensive.

Presumably you feel "trepid" or apprehensive about the purchase rather than "trepidatious" or confused

You could use either for the same purpose as they mean the same thing, but I'd stick to 'trepid' myself. The version ending in 'acious/atious' is just an improper/informal version of the adjective 'trepid', which in itself is the opposite of intrepid.

You also have 'trepidation' and its opposite 'intrepidation', and 'trepidant' and 'intepridant', but no-one seems to use 'intrepidacious/intrepidatious' which would obviously be the opposite of 'trepidacious/trepidatious'.

For example, you could say "Our trepid explorer..." or "Our trepidacious explorer" and give the same message, whereas you'd not swap 'intrepid' for 'intrepidacious' in the same sentence.

I think the addition of the 'acious/atious' part is due to he film 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure/Bogus Journey' with all the 'acious/atious' suffixes.
