Help with iPhone snap in adapter

Hi all
Bought the iphone4s snap in adapter which should as I thought just snap into the holder.. Hmmmmm it does not fit!!! The part is for an e86 so what am I missing guys and girls?...

Bad news (probably)
The base box (snap in box)into which the cradle fits on my 07 required updating to a later wider version which the iP4 cradle fits fine .I suspect you have the same issue .
If you take your vin # to your Dealer the parts guys will tell you if you need the new base to accommodate the iP4 snap-in

Hmm I suspect I do, how much does the new box cost?

Also be prepared for a £100+ bill for it, and some disassembly of the rear cabin to disconnect the old plug/socket.

You may ask why ,the iPhones where first of wider smart phones released in 2007 and previous fitting was designed for narrower "normal phones "

Nothing BMW have yet to release a cradle for the iPhone5 ............and by the time they do likely Apple will have a new iPhone with a different form factor
and if you do not have an iPhone 4 cradle already fitted same as above
