Help with decision making process

Well I went for a test drive. Several scratches on the paintwork - some quite deep, and a group of stone chips on the offside front wing. Not major but they need correcting. The dealer said he'd get them looked at but wasn't overly committed. Indicator stalk only self cancelled some of the time. Didn't get to test the cruise control. Somehow it didn't seem as fast as the last one I tried. Overall I liked it but left a little underwhelmed - not sure that was the car's fault though.

I asked what was the best they could do on price and he said it had just been reduced by £1k (and showed me this) so the best they could do was throw in tax for a year. It won't need a service for 15k miles.

Not sure what to do. Think I should at least check out the bicolour imola red/ anthracite one first.

I'm def not 100%. Shame really as the spec is great. The problem is they don't seem to come up that often. Maybe I just need to be more patient.

I thought dealers were generally very good at sorting paint etc before sales?

Strange about the performance too, maybe drive another as your memory might be playing tricks on you.

It could be but the last one I drove seemed really fast. I didn't get to take this one on any really open roads but even so just didn't pull as well as I'd remembered. The first one seemed so fast I thought it was an M - but it definitely wasn't.

Yes you should. I fell in love with mine when I saw it...

How sexy is that?!

i agree with Lucy i much prefer the bi-colour interior... although before i got mine i wasnt fussed about sat nav either - i even thought it looked stupid as it popped out of the dash - like it was a bit of an after thought - however i certainly couldnt live without it now - the ability to display text message, who is calling you, the on board computer details and best of all the intravee! I hardly use the nav part of it!

definitely bicolour or Red. I'm not a fan of the straight black, my mate has it and it makes the interior look even smaller and darker.

Making choices with second hand cars is always difficult, the more research and time you put into it the more difficult it gets, just like buying anything more complex than a tooth brush.

108's for me are a seriously good looking wheel, but the maintenance of them here in the UK, no thanks!, California yes maybe. I've just this evening ordered a set of 107's from http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/ I'm not normally hugely turned on by alloys but for me these are a bit special, I think whoever put the design on paper deserves a medal the size of a frying pan, this is of course personal taste.

Satnav, I'm OK with portable, and find it quite useful, but if it came with the car I would think it a nice bonus so long as it didn't add to the cost.

Surely the plastic interior trim can be changed reasonably easily.

Good luck with you're choice, if you end up with a Z4 I'm sure you will be happy. I am.

It is indeed v.sexy. The only downside to the one I'm looking at is it has no bluetooth or sat nav. A combination of the one I tested yesterday and this other one would be perfect.
