Help! Window regulator cable replacement issue

Hi everyone

I'm just in the process of replacing the window regulator cable on my drivers door.

Got a new cable kit off eBay with the spool - but how the hell do you manage to wind the cable onto the spool and still get the cable into the black housing!?

Am I trying to put too many winds on it !? It just looks like the cable is just too short but I don't think it is.

I just can't see a way that I'll be able to get the cable wound round the white spool and manage to get both white cable ends (the bits with the springs on) into the right place on the black spool housing.

Someone must have done this and been successful! I've watched the YouTube video which does make it look like a tight fit, but even with the spring removed I can't get it to line up ok.

I've also measured the cable and outer sheath lengths against the oem ones and they match perfectly - so it must be me!!

Leave it an hr and try again. Fresh eyes, fresh mind, it'll fall into place.

remove cable from one of the white rollers, fit middle one in place, than fit on to the roller,it has little track ,if you spin left or right it cable will go in place ,use pliers to spin the roller .
