Help! Roof system dead but not motor!?

Just tried to put my roof down (via gaptech) and the windows went down and nothing. Got in the car and the upper red led was on, I tried pressing up/down and nothing. The roof was still latched down. No matter what I did the led stayed on.
I then tried removing the two smaller fuses for the roof (12/31) to reset the system, the led went out when I removed fuse 31 but now the whole roof system seems dead.

No unlatching, no motor sound and no led lights up. I've tried disconnecting the battery for a 5 or so seconds.

Any help apreciated, only had a motor 3 weeks ago and it's been fine :(

I did check and it was down, thing is the led doesn't even flash orange to say the shelf is up as it used to, almost like switch panel is dead, but all other buttons like heated seats work ok

only thing i have done recently is disable both seats occupancy reminders in retro section of SSS, wouldnt have thought it would be related.

Not with the buttons in the car no, i think they do with the remote if i hold open though, will check now.

Turm key in lock as well, that should drop the roof as well.

windows do open with remote held open button but not inside buttons. just tried after reconnecting battery after 30 mins. its like the roof system has locked me out

One person did have an issue with a GapTech module. It would be worth removing to see if the problem is cured.

Just went out to the car and all is working again :headbang: its as if the car went into a 12 hour shutout or somthing. will keep an eye on it and if it happens again i think the first thing to remove will be the gaptech. and will solder the connections back in. I know the scotch locks are pants. Just strange how it cut out all roof functions altogther. Happy for now though. Thanks guys

Private sale I assume, else I'd be advising the dealer.

That aside. Def. remove the module if it happens again and then solder the wires if refitting (and use an non electric soldering iron). I have the Rheinhold module and they say 99% of issues of such modules are caused by poor craplock connectors.

Yes private. when i say car went into 12 hour shutdown i mean just the roof system, made it sound worse than it is. the rest of the car worked just fine :driving:

Im thinking it was a gaptech issue, i will get it out and solder the connections and see how i go from there. as i say i just didn't think it would cause the whole roof electric system to stop working, i.e holding button as normal

Yes - not far off at all.

Frankly I'm not sure if it's the module or not. Lot depends on other factors. If you fitted it since the purchase. Other changes you've made. If the guy sold you a car with a known but not declared fault in it, etc.

Easy one to eliminate though by removing the module and seeing how you get on.

Yep fitted it since the purchase and other than the usual roof motor failure its been fine. only other things i have done is some SSS coding. seatbelt chimes, visual disarm, auto lock etc.
