Help - rear box support bracket.

Doing the NC 500 on Monday and found my rear exhaust box20160507_120456.jpg bracket has snapped on my 3.0si! Common and I 've got my mate welding it up at the last minute but what's this rubber at 90 degrees to the box? Is it a counter weight? Not part of the bracket?
Being fixed right now so whilst it's on the 4 poster help appreciated.
 
Hi Paul, had the same happen on my si, it's pretty common-I was told the rubber weight (it's not part of the bracket) damps out the acoustic frequencies that can make brackets break off :roll:
Had mine welded up over a year ago & it's been fine ever since, they managed mine in situ without having to remove it, just the rear wheel off for greater access from memory :thumbsup:
