Help- Rattling from Rear Left

Hi All,

Wondered if you could help me... When I drive over bumps I can hear a noise from the left rear which is hard to describe but it's almost like metal moving around in a plastic tub or a bulb moving around so its not a harsh noise, just noticeable.

I recently had my exhaust welded as my hanger snapped so I know what the sound of the exhaust banging against the Axel sounds like so it's not that again thankfully!

I got my car checked out this morning by a mechanic who did a full "MOT like" check on it... all springs were fine, strut mounts etc all in good shape.

Does anyone have any idea on what my next port of call could be to try find this?

Simply grab it and move it about. It shouldn’t move at all.

Hmm, had a similar issue on a previous BMW which had been checked over by a 'BMW specialist'. Couldn't find any faults.

Had another (non-bmw specialist) mechanic look at it, and they immediately pointed out broken rear springs. Not saying that's the case with your car, but it's always worth getting another mechanic to take a look.
