HELP PLEASE!!

Can anyone help me?

I have just gone out to wash the car and clean the soft top but when I try the open the roof using the button on the dash all that happens is that the windows come down, the roof un-locks itself from the windscreen and the motor just whurs away without retracting the roof.

I have had a ook round and can't see anything wrong,the two rotating levers are in the right position in the boot and I am totally lost as to what to do next.

The roof will close and lock and re-open but that's all.

Any ideas guys?

Check the little red bowden cable in the boot.

If it's "out" you will be able to twist it and return it "in" which will lock the motor back & you should be away.

If there's no fault lights I reckon you're in luck and have knocked it by accident.
 
Andy, you bloody beauty. You have just saved my £620 as I had just realised a warranty was needed. I owe you a bevvy next time I'm in Warwickshire
 
heh... not a great day for Sherlock :)
go check the pressures and reset the sensor... might just be low pressure. I had this shortly after buying mine; clearly the previous own had never checked the pressures and the dealer neglected to check too (Williams BMW: shoddy!).

Put some air in them and they were all good... right up until I got a bloody great bolt through one :headbang:
 
yes, a nail in the tyre. £216 from Kwik Fit.

Car now in for respray rear bumper, stone chip repair on bonnet and polish out slight marks on boot lid, another £200!!

I think its time :D :D :D for a ride on my Fireblade
