Help needed!

Gutted, have owned my Zed for 5 days and it's gone wrong!

It's not running on all cylinders and the engine managment light has come on.

Anyone got any ideas?
bought the car privately so have no warranty. It's really taken the shine of what I thought was a superb car :(

Coils? What year is it? Engine size? Coils are easy enough to replace but have no idea of cost as when my 325 did this (2003) they were replaced under warranty/recall.

2003 & 2.5

Looks like coil pack is most likely.
Have booked it in with a local garage (not BMW specific) hopefully they will sort it for not too much cost.

Right year, right engine. Took my dealer about an hour start to finish, iirc, and she ran like a top afterwards. :thumbsup:

Mine did it a couple of years ago, the Zed doesn't just have 1 coil suppling the spark plugs but runs a number of inline coils, though I'm not sure just how many, it shouldn't take any more than an hour to sort out.
 
Well, collected the car earlier and all fixed at a cost of £94 incliuding new plugs.

Haven't been out for a goos blast yet but plan to shortly.

Panic over!! :D
 
Great! As to number of coils--one per cylinder-they sit on the spark plug rather than go through the older distributer type system.
