Help needed to source cheaper BMW parts

All,

I need a coolant hose and the price from BMW is £63 for a small length of rubber hose and a connector :o is there an alternative supplier for the same part? I remember when I had my Mercedes S-Class i could buy a part made by the same company that made them for Mercedes but it just didn't have a Mercedes logo on it and it was half the price for the exact same part??? I also need an intercooler hose which is quite a good length and I don't imagine that will be cheap either.

The reason I need the hoses is that they have a very slight weeping, enough just to show a damp mark that is all. I wondered if they could be repaired or a seal changed, any help appreciated.

go here https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select

Find your car, drill down through the menus till you find your part, copy the part number and just google it.

Oh, and cross your fingers :-)

Have you tried Euro Car Parts? Or tell the dealer you are in the motor trade and get 10 to 15% discount!

Thanks, I will have a look around. Bye the way the site below is much cheaper than Euro Car Parts and the website functionality and parts numbers are all the same as Euro's. Sometimes when your parts arrive they even have Euro Car Parts labels on them. However Euro Car Parts deny it has anything to do with them??

He's a liar liar pants on fire, the two companies are registered at the same address and have the same directors. Rumour has it that CP4less supply a lot of ECP returns. But who knows what the truth is if they won't even own up to being connected

Anybody used www.onlinecarparts.co.uk before? This is the part I need and Gates are generally good quality.

https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/gates-13786967.html

Half the price of a genuine BMW Hose and probably equally as good.

According to the info on the website it's a German company based in Berlin. They accept PayPal so you could pay using that method knowing that if there is a problem you have PayPal's buyer guarantees in place.

I just had a look at the carparts4less site looks like ECP have gone into the paddling pool and Bbq business. Strange addition to car parts!

Try Opie oils, they offer Febi Bilstein parts, who might offer what you want. Also theres an offer £10 off when you spend £50. Good luck.

its a sister company of Euro at parts, just take longer to be delivered

Ordered a hose from www.onlinecarparts.co.uk and they have said it will take 4 or 5 days to arrive, £22 cheaper.

But generally though not always cheaper than ECP

All the parts I've ordered have always been cheaper but as you say not everything will be. Had to order my hose from Germany as ECP and many other places could not help, including Opie Oils. Should here in about 4 to 5 days.

Steve.

Online car parts has a sister web site AUTODOC..

I’ve used that for some time for both my Z4 and my Volvo XC70..

I find it very good and works well...a few observations

The process is slowww compared to uk suppliers so if you are car off road then this could be an issue

They offer on many parts several suppliers at differing prices ..most expensive is not necessarily best...often the best quality parts are not the most expensive

Also the baffling array of part numbers from the car manufacturers means you have to be a 6th Dan on part numbers ..real oem is really useful but even there it’s not always clear

They do a no quibble returns service and also on several offer exchange at advantageous rates..

So if you can plan ahead I recommend them!

Thanks, I've now got the Autodoc app and may use it when required. I've just been given contact details for a BMW head mechanic who left BMW and now has his own place in our home town. I've a choice of 3 places now.

I ordered my hose from onlinecarparts (Autodoc) and it arrived in 3days, it's a Gates hose and has the BMW part number on it.

Update: All fitted perfectly and coolant topped up with the same BMW coolant that was in it and all at a fraction of the cost of what it would have cost at BMW, really pleased now and will order parts from AUTODOC (onlinecarpartsuk.co.uk) again.
