Help needed please. Trimming the wheel arch lips

Hi guys, has anyone trimmed and re moulded their wheel arch lips or know anyone that has? I cant find any threads on here and not much information.
I've seen on german forums and pictures its been done, but i don't speak german and the threads are massive.
Any help muchly appreciated, thanks in advance πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Presume its the defined lip on rear liner you are wanting to lose ?

If you have feel under your wheel arch there is a plastic lip, this can rub on the tyre wall. I have m4 wheels on mine and the rears are 10 wide and for me to lower the car i need to shave and re mould it.

yes bud, also not sure if i need to do the front?

From memory the fronts aren't the same design :? i only had rub issues on rears with a 35i on H&Rs with 9.5j et35 & only occasionally when on spirited drives .
I warmed up the plastic lip with blowlamp in order to press it into different position ( carefully of course  ) & also trimmed the pronounced edge with a sharp hooked stanley knife

did you do on the car or take the arches out and do it?

how far did you cut it back ? I take it a heat gun would have the same effect and which way did you press it?
Thanks 😎

Did them on car , was a few years back but i recall warming the lip & using a lead dresser to "roll" the lip back  a rolling pin or other hard round object you can grip should work .
It did the trick without damaging the liner or arch but in the end decided the stock Msport springs were just a better option all round so removed the lowering springs altogether

ok bud, thanks i will have a go tomorrow, Im changing the whole set up. Coilovers with adjustable camber plates, arms and bars. Thanks again 🍻

Just a word of warning, I had my 35is rear arches done and some trim was shaved...

After a few months loads of my cars features went nuts...

Looked in my boots rear right section where the modules sit... not good mostly soaked in water...

So if you do, end up doing this maybe it was just my luck, but i covered mine in clingfilm and then also blocked up those vents with another panel and added silicone to seal it in to avoid any further water ingress.

Best of luck
