Several members have suggested wrapping my pillars gloss black to match the hardtop (in winter) the grilles and alloys (all year round)

Try black,it can always be removed.
It may make the car seem lower and sleeker as ones eyes may not to be drawn to the pillar as much in black
Just my thoughts

Have to say once I photo-shopped it I'm really liking the black - particularly with the roof down as sw4nny pointed out :)

I am usually for OEM but the black looks better I think and as others have said it can be removed easily so easy descision to try it I think and see how you get on.

When I was searching for my Zed I viewed a red with the pillars painted black, might've have looked okay if you couldn't still see the red down the edges!

I was all about to say red 100% but with the roof it does look slicker in black. Red makes the roof look more out of place where as black it just looks like it's a black on red theme

Red from me Marlon, from the side view with the black, it looks like something is missing, plus the red mirror looks lost. With the red...it just looks right to the eye.
Would look even better with the correct stick on the back wing

A while back I pasti-dipped the wing mirrors black (easier than wrapping) - may be a easier option for the door pillars as well, and simple to remove if you change your mind, Marlon?

Like the black on red as I have always said Colin, and like others have said I think you should also do the mirrors

Hadn't considered plasti-dip, would I spray it straight on to the pillar? Does it peel off to revert back?

Yep, dead easy. Make sure your pillars are clean (I also waxed the wing mirrors for easier peeling afterwards), mask up and then just spray on. Lots of thin coats is best

Can withstand hose and gentle washing, but a pressure washer will lift the pasti-dip.
