Help! Key battery dead!

I use the zed rather infrequently and it looks like the key battery might have dieded.

Will the alarm go off if i use the key (not remote) to manually open the car when I used the remote to lock/immobilise it ?

Any quick solution?
Lekky toothbrush charger?

A guy at the BMW service department told to always use both my keys as they are charged when they are in the ignition. it also stores information such as mileage. I'm not sure but i think the alarm would work when locking your car with the key. You could try starting the car & that should recharge your key fob

OK for anyone wondering, the alarm does go off but u can deactivate by putting key in ignition.
