As it says really, I'm abroad at the moment and wondered if anyone knew how I can watch the 6 Nations games preferably live on my PC, BBCi Player / Sky Player don't work as soon as they see a foreign IP address.

Maybe. never tried this but was thinking about this. if it works let me know.

use a UK based proxy.

like this one:

http://unblocker.biz/

go to the web page above, type in the iplayer (for example) URL. what happens?

It should work as the proxy will provide a UK IP rather than the foreign one that you are on. unless the bbc block known proxy servers

I am not too computer geeky so someone more geeky will spot a flaw

As i said, if it works let us know, a useful tool

I think we once used a UK based "Slign Box" to watch sport while on a boat....? I'm not geeky enough to know how this works but I did enjoy the game :D

If all else fails - find a bar..

Would normally be my plan of attack but I'm in Brazil, mention Rugby and they look at you like you have 2 heads or something, especially when you tell them you think football is S***, and played by overated, overpaid prima donna's full of their own self importance.

Not dissimilar to rugby then :D

I VPN into a UK based server to watch BBC iplayer when I am abroad.

Spot a11y-the-technophobe :D

What exactly does that all mean? A step-by-step guide might be good as I was forced to watch a couple of GPs in French then German bars last year as I couldn't get them on my laptop sitting in my campervan(!) - not good!

VPN = Virtual Private Network, uses the internet to create a secure 'tunnel' between one location on the internet and another. Would think you would need pretty good speed links to watch video/tv through one though. My work one struggles with photos :o
