Help Find a Private Plate

peddy

Hi All,

This has been on my to do list since purchasing the Zed and was hoping for some suggestions/opinions please. :)

Reg has to meet the following conditions:

* Under £500
* Be as short as possible
* At most contain two number, but preferably just the one i.e. A0 AAA or A00 AAA
* If two numbers then preferably at least one of them should be a '1'.
* Have some association with my name (Pedram) or nickname (Peddy), so maybe have PED at the end of the reg. i.e. A00 PED
* May also consider initals... PMM
* Plus: Ideally the the whole reg should be my name/nickname

Did look for P3 DDY and P33 DDY, but both are taken and I can't think of any other way of making PEDDY. :(

Cheers,
Pedram

The impossible we can do, Miracles may take a little longer!!!!

If only you could have a zero. :)

Hmm... Found Y11 PED. That's not bad me thinks.

Where did you find Y11 PED could not see that on the DVLA

Plate Stealers will take the piss with prices compared to DVLA but sadly sometimes you have to pay them to get a plate you want.

I would have gone for F8 PED at £599 from DVLA remember you will get your money back and more when you sell in the future.

GAZA62, found it on the DVLA site @ £399.

F8 one is quite nice and I did spot that one. Something like this will be with me forever, so not considering resale value really. Let see if anyone want to get it for me for xmas. :D

always check DVLA first, if you phone an independant, they note your interest and they buy the plate so you cannot get it from DVLA afterwards, and you have to go to them and pay the premium..

Mate - lots to chose from on newreg - Y11PED looks cheaper here than DVLA, but don't know if DVLA includes fees.

http://www.newreg.co.uk/search/prefix_grid/0/0/PED.plate

Add on vat 17.5% plus £80 registration fee plus £25'ish for the plates plus £20 for them doing the paperwork, £15 for the insurance stealers to change your details and a £144 plate costs about £300 all in. (I know I've just done it!)

I quite liked W10PED - £271 base - all in for circa £450.

i've always though buying from dvla is cheapest option

the price quoted is what you pay, that includes the £80 assignment figure

I have a year 1945 private plate with just my initials and a very low number, and I think these are the only plates you will make any money on? :)

If i had such a plate, i would only consider no.1, anything else appears 2nd 3rd 4th best etc - just my opinion though

Any plate that just contains '1' and three letters is definately out of my price backet

I have tried to find my plate with '1' but it's not out there, I paid £2500 for mine 16 years ago and I was offered £13k for it by a dealer last year
