Help 330CI or Z4 2.5i

I took out a new M3 (E92) for a test drive today. I think you made the right choice.

Sure the beast is farken quick and does it with so much ease, way more so than my Sabine, but I was left impressed but uninspired.

At least the Z4 has loads of character. It may not be the fastest thing on the road, but it involves me and entertains me and enthuses me.

I can only imagine that the 330 and probably the 335 are similar, but without the much higher limits the M3 has. Fast, really fast. Boring.

Give me a car that makes me feel alive, inspired, living on the edge. Keep the 3 series for grandpa.

Sorry its not the greatest. Take a better one soon !!

I also went from a E46 325CI Sport Coupe to a Z4 3.0. I have to admit i got bored with the 325 Coupe very quickly as it just didnt feel 'special' enough. The fact that you are driving something you dont see a lot of, and a little impractical makes you realise you are driving something a bit special.

Also the dash in the E46 looks like something out of the 80's, i was never happy with mine really.

The z is the better choice, also it will handle fat better than the 3 series, and dotn worry about comfort, they are fine.

Here's the real way to answer your question...how often do you have people in the back seat? If the answer is never or rarely, it's an easy choice....the Z!

I have a 2.5i and don't notice the lack of power. So don't let that scare you off. I've driven the 3.0si (70hp more) several times and barely noticed the power difference at speeds under 60. But I'm sure it's much more noticeable at higher speeds. But I don't drive fast on the highway...just set the cruise control and leave it be.

Also, I'd look at some of the post about switching out the run flat tires (RFTs) on the Z4. Standard tires are a world of difference. Considering how much you'll be driving it, you'll love the cushier ride of the non-run flats.

I also agree w/ this view..I can't stand the dash on mine but the ride and exterior look makes up for it..
