Hi All,

Thought I would just post a quick hello. I bought the carbon black Z4MC Mark advertised on here a couple of weeks ago. I am absolutely loving the car so-far. Just a little bit of OCD minor fettling is required for perfection, repair minor kerbing on one alloy, proper detail to remove swirls/light scratches and remove a tiny parking ding. Has anyone found carbon black to be the hardest paint ever? Spent most of the weekend attacking it with a d.a machine polisher with below average results.

Is there a common list of rattles and the associated cures anywhere on the forum. At low speed over imperfect roads there is a very annoying rattle coming from the left hand side of the car, can't tell if it's coming from the door, seat, glove box or engine bay. Any thoughts suggestions most welcome.

John.

Hi John, welcome to the forum,I'm not very good at giving advice about the workings of a Z but there are plenty on here that are.Someone will be along soon

Hi and welcome .regards rattle, try hooking passenger seatbelt over bolster so its not dangling loose ,seems a bit basic but worked for me in the roadster

John, Carbon Black is a very tough colour to keep swirl free (but the pain is more than worth it, easily the best colour).

Get yourself a very strict cleaning regime and a bottle of PoorBoys Black Hole....works wonders

Welcome to the forum :)

I've not come across a common rattle remedy list, but I have noticed the rattle from the left-hand side of the car.

In my car it's become more noticeable over the time I've owned it and seems louder when the interior of the car is warm. It sounds like it's coming from the area of the passenger-side vent. I agree it's a bit annoying, but so far I've not got annoyed enough to try to do anything about it, so I'm sorry to say I can't offer any handy tips.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice. I am starting to think of the various rattles as "character". I have ordered some of the poorboys black hole. I will update how I get on this weekend. Its also booked in to tidy up the passenger front alloy on Saturday!

Ah, the car I nearly bought.....!

Good choice, the CSLs certainly make a big difference.

Welcome to the forum

Proper pics will following the next machine polish and application of PB Black Hole! Had the alloy refurbished by Spraycraft in Warwick who did an excellent jon. Just the small parking ding to sort next. Undecided on a stubby aerial, does it make a difference to reception?

It's forcing me to do the awful job of clearing the garage out for it to live in. Too sunny for that today thankfully!
