Hello everyone.
After lurking for several weeks following the purchase of my 57-plate Z4C 3.0Si Sport, I've finally bitten the bullet and here's my first post. I've never posted on a forum before, but I've been reading this one since before I bought the car in March and it's certainly THE BEST one I've every come across for any of the car's I've owned. So hopefully that's the last of me skulking in the shadows and I shall become an 'active participant'!
I know that :worthless: so without further ado...
I bought the car from from an indie garage, with 41k on the clock and FBMWSH. My previous car was a 59-plate Mazda 6 2.2D 185 Sport, which some people in the motoring press say is actually quite sporty but having come from a 300bhp Impreza with Prodrive pack it certainly wasn't sporty in my book! I had the 6 for 15 months from new but it wasn't my scene and the Mrs and I didn't need the space. Plus I'm used used to having sporty cars not diesels, so I came to the conclusion that a sound buy would be a Z4C. I didn't consider the Roadster as I adore lines of the rear 3/4 of the Coupe (hence the last photo). The bodywork is Montego Blue and the interior has the brushed aluminium trim and black Oregon leather. Options include xenons, CD changer, Bluetooth prep, MFSW, heated seats, rear PDC and probably a couple of things I don't know about! The car's description in the showroom didn't list the options (I'm not sure the dealer knew exactly what they were dealing with, given the fact the bulk of their stock is 'hum-drum' stuff), so I got her for what I considered to be a bargain price. I was pleasantly surprised when I started discovering the options the car's kitted out with
. BTW, is there a way of obtaining a spec-sheet for her from BMW?
The pics are the first ones I've taken of the Zed since I got her and were taken at our local country park. I hope to be able to take some more soon in some other locations as we go on our travels. Minor mods wise I want to get a stubby sooner rather than later, and I'm umming and ahhing over changing to non-RFT as the roads round where we live are
. Main thing stopping me is the fact that all four tyres were practically new when I bought her, and I'm thinking of getting some winter tyres later in the year too. As far as anything else goes, until I get bored, it's staying as it is. Famous last words!
So far I'm chuffed to bits with it. So glad I didn't go for the Boxster I test drove - they're two-a-penny round here. I've only ever see one other Z4C round here, a nice silver 3.0SE. I wonder if the owner's on this forum?
Anyway, enough ramblings for my first post.
