Hello, new member here looking for my first BMW!

I've had various cars makes over the last 30 years, mostly Audi and VW. So I thought it was about time I tried one of Munich's finest out.

Specifically looking for Z4 manual coupe, not too bothered about condition as I'm used to getting my hands dirty now and then.

Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

A manual Coupe is a great choice, but I may be slightly biased!

There are not many for sale up here in Scotland at the moment, so I will probably have to travel to view potential purchases.

Does any know how many E86 coupes are still registered in the UK?

Sadly I don't think there is a conclusive answer, although this thread from yesterday may be useful:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=144475

All I do know if that only 1,596 Manual Si Coupes were registered, so number will obviously be down a bit now. :(

If you start getting more specific about colours, spec, etc. it gets more tricky! I think you need a combination of luck, patience and being willing to travel, but it'll be worth it!

Welcome to the forum, I think Pondrew meant “Bill”. Good luck finding your car, they come up on here for but can be pricey compared to a roadster

Yes, I seem to remember the days when you could pick up a tidy example for around £6k, but those days are long gone!

That would probably have been early 2020 when I was selling my 2nd one - I took a big hit on that. :(

But it meant I got a good deal on the MC I had bought in December 2019. :D

So it all worked out OK in the end!

Your location probably means you'll need to travel.

From Sandhurst I went to Portsmouth for my first E86, Rugby for my second and Rutland for my MC. But I had a great drive home each time. :driving:

This is where the train comes in handy! Don't be afraid to travel to get the right car. If you see one you like, post the details on the forum and the members will give you their unbiased opinion. https://classicsworld.co.uk/guides/bmw-z4-e84-buyers-guide/

Welcome, also West of Scotland here.

Hello, beginning to find out that a E86 coupe is a rare as a wild haggis up here.
Best choice for your new BMW, manual coupe si can't go far wrong as long as you do the usual due diligence.
Montego Blue is probably the most desirable colour in my opinion
Left know what you purchase  good luck :tumbleweed:
