Hi,

I've just got myself a 2004 E85 2.5 in Merlot Red, with 85k on the clock, after looking at Zeds for a while.

I picked this one up cheap as it has an intermittent power steering fault, which I'm yet to fix.
What appears to be the problem is the torque sensor in the power steering motor losing communication with the ECU and the power steering shuts off. Turn the ignition off and on again, and its fine. It happens about once a week (I do about 170 miles a week.) and it's still drive-able when it happens, so in no real hurry to fix it at the moment. Especially as I hear its a bit of a pig to get the power steering motor out.

Apart from that, I'm loving it.

Plans for the car are basically to keep it pretty standard as it's my daily, and just enjoy driving it.

Welcome to the forum

Merlot's a lovely colour.

I'm sure lots of folk can help with the steering issue if needed. Best post some photo's of your Zed up soon though otherwise they'll never talk to you again

Hi and welcome.

Welcome to the forum, cant believe I'm the first person to mention photos
I had the dreaded PS loss, but my one shut off and that was that.
I removed the motor (tricky but doable) and sent it to ECU testing. It was back within a week and fitted, no more issues since
Oh, and :worthless:

Here a couple of photos I took the other day up at Goodwood.
I'm based in Southsea, and work in Chichester, so Goodwood is just up the road.

Still not fixed the steering issue, and it's getting more frequent, so have to get it done soon. Luckily my brother is a mechanic and owns his own independent garage so I'll have to sweet talk him over the weekend!
