Hello fellow Z4 owners! Coming from a Subaru STI

Hi peeps! Just thought I would drop in as I am now a Z4 owner as of yesterday! I was recently looking at prices of M3s and could not believe how much they had dropped so quite fancied one until I seen the running costs! Long story short, I swapped my 05 plate Subaru Impreza STI type uk, 330bhp, 15k miles plus cash for a 54 plate Z4. It is only the 2.2 as I fancied a change from silly petrol costs but what a great car! So much more refined than the Subaru. Obviously there is a massive power differenve. The STI could hit 60 in under 4.5 sec and the Z4 feels very slow! It is a nice spec one though. It's a grey one with red leather,19" 2 piece split rims, hard top, Ac Schnitzer exhaust, aero front bumper and spoiler, clear rear light pack, cruise control, xenons, auto wipers/lights, parking sensors, business cd etc! I'll post pics when I have a bit more time! I look forward to speaking to you all and hope to get some great advice!

Hi Clarkie172

I've just paid a deposit on a 2.2 and can't wait to pick it up on Saturday.

Love the aero bumper. :D and hard top.

I bet you can't wait matey?! Really nice car. I would have never thought I would own one but when I got some pictures of the Z4 I couldn't believe how nice it looked with the hard top and the wheels! I have had my speed for the time being, it is time to stop worrying about finding a shell garage that sells V power and start enjoying driving! I can't stop smiling! :D

welcome to the forum- the 2.2 with the roof down on a sunny day will bring more smiles per gallon than the sti ever managed. :driving:

hey, i'm doing a similar thing in that i'm currenty selling evo viii mr to move to a z4 coupe. pretty much for the same reasons as you've said plus i missed having a car that just looked like a real good looking sports car. evo's and scooby's are great and do their job brilliantly but they are damn fugly. i had an S2000 before the evo and it's been my favourite all round car so far so the z4 is me moving back towards that direction. good luck with your new Z

Cheers guys!

Billy- I know exactly what you mean about the EVOS/ Subarus. I loved the performance of it but that was about it! Getting in the Z4 and sitting behind the wheel just gives me a grin. It's the first 'classy' kind of car I have had. I have always owned performance cars! I have never had any comforts other than air con! It is a nice change! :driving:

Sounds a great spec and glad you made the switch from the STI - main difference you'll notice is that as you drive around you'll be turning girls heads in the Z4, rather than blokes heads in the STI.

Evo's and STI's only impress blokes - Z4's impress the ladies.....

Cheers

Marc

Pete- only driven it twice but loving it! My lass drives it most days as I commute about 35 miles. It's just a much better package of car than all out speed!

Harry- You are right about the turning of heads mate but I'm taken so not really important! :D I do love the attention though
