Exploring under the car today to see what I need, and besides noticing a number of bolts missing that hold the heat shields, I also noticed that the rear shield over the exhaust is only attached at two points (bumper and one other place). What is the best approach to fix these back as they have either torn loose or rotted through at the bolt points?
The rear part is normally held up by the exhaust bracket by that has completely torn loose around that bracket. If I had some spare shield I could probably hold the rest up by putting a bolt through the middle of a new piece. Is that generally the way to fix that?
Anyone know how to remove the square plastic u cover that goes over the lower wishbone? I need to really treat those members to get the rust off but the plastic is in the way
