Headlining swap!

Yo.
The bmw paintshop damaged the headlining and I'm not letting them near my car again.
So how do I get the old one out? Doesn't seem to go out thru the rear hatch..?

Out of the boot mate or through the door.

It is flexible enough but tight.

Just raise the steering column, push seats back and shimmy

Luckily I got my hands on a good 2nd hand. They are 1800euro from BMW..

So.............. If THEY damaged it, why aren't THEY fixing it at their expense?

They just wont. They are BMW? They prob looked at the pricetag and said 'no-way'. As I wrote, they also seem to brake more things every time so no more of that.

Job done anyway, it was:
1. off with the A- & B-pillar claddings,
2. unbolt the sun blinds and tilt the front edge down while disconnecting the lamps and alarm sensor. Pull slightly forward.
3. slide forward, turn 90deg and slide it out backwards thru the rear hatch.
4.Oh and the seats had to be fully down, fully forward and fully tilted back.

Assemble in the reverse order.

The little plastic "T" holding the middle rear end of the liner up breaks easy (I prob need to buy a new one).
