Hi all,
Ok today my new car arrived, 58 reg Coupe,
all was good, until i turned on the headlights, the OSF light is out, i seem to have the halo on, but not the driving light part.

now here's the thing, it failed its MOT on friday (before i got it) on this light, and the garage says they fixed it, which they did as the lights worked this morning when it got dropped off, as i checked it.

help please?

dealer says it was working when he left it, i cant take car back as its 120miles away, and im heading on exercise with work in 2 days time!!!
 
Try swapping the ballasts over to the headlight you know works, process of elimination.
 
guess you have the warning light saying light out?

ye try ignitor, then bulb,

then ballast, if you get this far id be buying one as its bumper off and will only mean you doing it twice if it is
 
I'd advise taking it back, despite the drive. Register the issue and have it fixed when you're back.
Under CCA the seller is responsible regardless. To swap ballast you need bumper off and both headlights out which although easy enough is not your job.
 
had electrician round tonight,
swapped bulbs...no cure
swapped those box things (ignitor)...no cure

he says someones been playing with the wiring as its been hot tested?

ok, i cant take it back, as i go away tomorrow with army for a while, secondly, i dont trust the dealer at all, i did speak with the MOT garage earlier who said they didnt do any repairs to the car last friday when it failed on lights, but over the weekend the lights got fixed as it went back to them monday and passed!!
 
Doesn't matter if you're going away, just call report and register the fault and tell them they are responsible. The law is very simple as it's assumed the fault existed at the time of sale. Don't disclose anything about the MOT station, that's for later.

Remember this could end up as a £1000+ light unit replacement for a new xenon light if they have messed it.
 
it will be tears before bedtime if you don't log the fault and all he details with the dealer!
Send it by recorded post to the man at the top of the tree!
