Anyone else notice the inside colour of headlights is different ? On my 2004 2.5se the inside is black , yet on one I have just purchased it is silver , yet it's off the same year car , must be a model thing is it ?

I thought that 3.0si and M have silver inners, smaller engines/pre facelift black inners, might be wrong

Headlights with black liners are halogen
Headlights with silver liners are xenon

Not correct unfortunately. My coupe has silver liners and are halogen. Might be right for roadsters but can't confirm.

Having thought about it.. I remember my '05 3.0i E85 had silver liners and halogen

3.0 cars have silver inners, all the others have black. This applies regardless of whether they are halogen or xenon.

ah balls I wanted to be the one to straighten that out - pipped to the post

The Ms also have the same silver inners as the 3.0 and came with xenons only. However unlike the 3.0 that came with the titanium front grill slats, the M has the black ones that featured on the 2.0, 2.2 and 2.5 models. Just to confuse things! 😀
