Headlight water ingress

So i've got water droplet fogging up my headlights (Xenons on a MR). I've got full BMW warranty - does anyone know if this is covered or tried to make a claim, surely these should be properly sealed.

I put some silicon bags in last year but it was never this bad and i know these can be expensive to replace - any ideas

Thanks

A common problem which sounds like the cover at the rear of the light isn't sealing proprely, or the seal has deterorated. New replacement covers from BMW aren't expensive, but not sure if they are covered under waranty.

Thanks, i'll get some new cover and try keeping some silicon packs in there - if it continues i'll see about warranty

Try some silicone grease/Vaseline around the O ring on the cover.

I also still maintain warranty on my 04. It wont be covered as water ingress is never covered. New covers and well dried out is the best option- if they are xenon then do it soon before the water damages the ballasts on the base of the light!

So just an update; BMW fitted a new complete light assembly and even polished the other side to match - all covered under warranty. I argued that it wasnt a wear and tear item and not on the exclusions list for warranty items. All in all a good result :)

A nice endorsement of the BMW insured warranty! I've been toying with the idea of cancelling mine over the last few days.
