Headlight washers

Do these work from time to time when the headlights are on or do they only work with the windscreen washers?

They operate upon activating the windscreen washers. When you pull the control stalk towards you. I believe they operate every 7 pulls with a min time of 3 mins between each activation cycle.

Do you always need the lights on too? I think if you wash the screen with the lights off then they'll never come on.

Pretty sure the lights have to be on.

Reason i ask is cus the wife was out in the car earlier and according to her the headlight washers just worked when she was driving along....didnt wash the windscreen or anything.

They should not do that they only work with lights on and as said above not everytime you pull on the stalk

Yes what MIke said. The lights need to be on.

Can cake a right mess fo your freshly waxed car (and they dont like the freezing cold). Waste of time IMO on the Z4.

I,ve de-attivated mine by removing the fuse, i think they are a bloody nuisance!

Well mine havent done anything they shouldnt of done since the Mrs reported the "incident"... :lol: Probably the car in front washing its windscreen! :roll:
