Headlight Upgrade

Anyone upgraded their headlight bulbs to something more brighty?

The LED headlights on the M40i seem ok but not up to the lights I have had on previous cars with Xenons.
Just wondering if the supposedly brighter LED bulbs you can buy are worth it ...

I doubt it..its one massive unit with barely any servicable parts

Ah that's a bummer - hate that manufacturers seem to be making fewer and fewer parts user serviceable ...

Things went downhill after Henry Ford started production line manufacturing…gone were the good old days of casting your own engine block..

Genuine question, are your lights working properly? Mine on both G29’s have been like bl00dy spotlights

I drive in rural highlands most of the time and have not once felt they didn’t illuminate enough

Maybe the OP is running on DRLs they are bright enough..I could see you in the mirrors a mile back :tumbleweed: :driving: :rofl:

That’s exactly my point :wink: you use me as an indicator to see where the group is because you can pick my lights out so easily :rofl:

Lol not sure I want to cast my own block (!) but changing a bulb doesn't seem like a massive ask

Yeah I know LEDs last ages but even so why design in the requirement to change the whole assembly when that's not required.

Mine are the "standard" LEDs without the fancy bits - they're not terrible but (dipped) not as good as e.g. the Rx8 I used to have - maybe they need re-aiming ...

Really? ours seem bloody amazing to me compared to our e89 with xenons, on full beam its like daylight
