headlight playing up? vid

SO - offside headlight halogen projector has always vibrated a bit in reflection on cars in front and since lowering the car the beam direction is now angulated down on this light only (coincidence I think unless the ride has got worse), and doesn't move much with the adjuster (non-xenon)

Opened the back up and you can see the light movement is completely loose. For those that have opened these light units etc and have some knowledge - is this normal movement or does the light unit clip into the housing or screw? wondering if something has somehow snapped.

Any input appreciated as I really don't want to remove the front bumper and whole light unit

Update ...

Turns out the adjuster has snapped. Looking through forums - happens a lot on 3ers. Never know so many stupid design and material faults before in one car which is supposedly made by a good marque - thoughts on BMW are a lot different to before I owned this car. Never mind.

Anybody else had an adjuster break?

Anyway I didn't ever update this and having seen somebody else post a query about a similar problem ...

There is no proper fix I could find other than a replacement head unit so the adjuster arm (brittle piece of plastic) has been repaired. It really was fiddly though, tested my patience.

Just noticed this evening that one of mine doesn't move.

Anyone got a walk through to removing the light (if this is what is needed).

Is the plastic part not available to buy?

Also, is this really necessary, or can the adjustment be done manually? (MOT due next month!)

Do you mean the headlight doesn't adjust up and down? My drivers side one has been like that for a few weeks now.

It did it about a year ago but fixed itself, but doesn't seem to be able to this time round.

My driver side light moves very slightly, but no where near as much as the near side one. No great hardship for me, but the MOT is due next month so I was just wondering if there's any manual adjustment possible.

I believe there is. Should be on the top of the headlamp housing. Something you can stick a screwdriver in to take the beam up or down.
