ok ,so my headlights dont do the up/down when switched on when the should .Also ,the beam is slightly high. replaced front/rear rods with new ones,
also changed the old level units for brand new ones off ebay, i know they could be crap .my questions are is there a test i can do? if i fit the original level units and with the headlights on say move the front one up/down should it move the lights and then the same at the rear.or is the front for up and the rear for down?

Assume as you are talking about front/rear rods replacement you have xenons?

That may not be the overall issue. There are motorised levellers in the headlights themselves that fail

Correct xenons , rods front/ rear replaced
I’m still not sure on the eBay level units may fit or use one of the original ones and try it front and back , what the chance of both motors going ?

Possible

I would test the units you’ve installed first-

IGN and lights on, disconnect the plastic armature and move the arm up down to see if the lights move

If they don’t then that’s your issue

Replaced all rods and eBay sensors, I presume if I disconnect the front rod and with the lights on wiggle the sensor up and down it should move the lights up and down, and does the same method apply to the rear as well ? It’s knowing if the eBay sensors are good ones , even though they are new non Bmw
