Headlight Internal Ring - Bit of an odd request/need

Hi guys,

This may get moved to the for sale section but thought I'd quickly test the water (sorry mods).
I am after the plastic ring which fits inside a headlight (see picture). Not sure if these are sold separately as I couldn't find it online. Maybe I'm typing in the wrong word.

Alternatively, being the optimist, would anyone have one spare.
I managed to separate the lens from the housing last night, with surprising ease in the end and hoping to replace this part. I don't really want to fork out hundreds on a new headlight or a set of AE if I can manage to salvage this one. Like I said, optimist :D

Thanks
Pri

I’ve just had the projectors out of my (Xenon) headlights to clean them, and the ring you are looking for appears to be an integral part of the light carrier assembly inside the headlight. This is the bit that is mounted by the adjuster screws and level motor, and to which the projector is mounted off four studs.

I can’t see that this is a separate replaceable part, and I’m not convinced you could ever get the carrier assembly out of a headlight assembly?

For ref, I think that to attempt to remove the carrier from the back moulding of the headlight you’ll need to prize off the adjuster gears. I discovered this because the gear is missing on one of my headlights and so the shaft it mounts to can push into the back of the light and allow the carrier to tilt side to side.

I don’t think that there is enough space inside the light however to push the carrier ‘in’ enough to disengage it from the back moulding and allow it to be manipulated out of the rear cover aperture.

Hi Chris, I have the whole assembly a part, lens separated from actual headlights. The ring doesn't seem to be integral and cannot see anything which would control the plastic ring. Unless I'm wrong... :(

Yes, you are right - the arrows on your original picture are much clearer now I’m viewing on a proper screen rather than a phone! I guess your only option to get a replacement is to find a broken headlamp with the ring still in tact.

The ring I was thinking of is the ring behind the reflector, surrounding the projector unit.
