Headlight Help

Afternoon all,

i bumped the zed and managed to smash the black plastic housing of my headlight which wasnt repairable, luckily i managed to find a headlight for sale on ebay so i bought it and put it on the car, it wasnt until it was on the car that i realised id been an absolute tool and bought a headlight from a 3.0 with chrome internals and not black internals like my 2.5!

iv now managed to locate someone with a pair of non xenons with black internals, however my headlights are xenons, does anybody know if its possible to fit the xenon bulbs and ballasts etc, to non xenon units? im also assuming i cant fit the pair of non xenons with standard bulbs to mine as the wiring will be different.

I dont think so, but check http://www.realoem.com/bmw - if im right i would be keen in buying your current non xenons, black internals off you 8)
 
It's doable but a real challenge as you'd have to strip all the internals out from the back (reflectors, loom, etc.) Cut out the bottom for the ballast loom and fit that too.

I know it's been done and having done lots of things with Z4 lights can also tell you it will be like trying to decorate your hall through the letter box and need patience and some level of skill.
 
Thanks for the heads up CJ, i think il give that a miss and buy a xenon one off ebay for 200 notes and try and sell the chrome internal headlight to try and recover some of the cost!

Looks like you ve got another buyer above mark!

Ranski: check my lights out for sale on the Bay.... item : 320757929498... going cheap. black internals, good condition, etc etc.
 
arh those ones - i have a spare set of these already :headbang: im after clears (much i guess most of us <2005 are!)
