Headlight bracket

Hi all,

After a little accident I am hoping for some advice. I am hoping the damage is no worse that what I can see, minor scuffed paint on the door and bumper and subject of this post.

I have spotted a crack on headlight bracket as I have circled below. As you can see, I have looked this up on realoem but I cannot tell whether this is a separate bracket or part of the main light housing. I am unlikely to get the time to remove the light fully to inspect and I cannot see it properly from behind the light either from above or through the access panel in the wheel arch.

The crack has not gone though entirely and the headlight still feels solid. Is the bracket replacement without a new headlight?

Shamelessly grabbing maxmans picture from earlier in the year (http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=48488&p=702921&hilit=headlight+bracket#p702921)
i think I have highlighted the right area. The screws suggests separate part but I am not sure.

Can anyone advise?

I did exactly the same thing and a very helpful forum member helped me out when I panicked. The brackets are designed to break in the event of hitting a person. You can contact Sopers BMW who will sell you a full replacement kit that screws on the headlight housing rear (as shown above) for about £12.

I drove without that bracket for a bit as it was awhile before I could get around to fitting it. Lots of penetrating oil on the screws and the threads before attempting removal. Same for the bumper screws at the top.
