I can't remove the side bolts that hold in the headlights in place as the torx head is stripped and slipping. What can I do?

Try plenty of releasing agent, leave for a while and then mole grips, worth a go.also work the bolt in small amounts tighter and loose in small amounts this will help to break it loose.

If you have a Dremmel or even a metal file, you can grind down the edges of the bolt head enough to get a spanner on it.

Use a screw extractor bit, or a left-handed drill bit. Either will bite at some point and pull the screw out.

Just an update on this, it's still stuck fast and to add to the misery another bolt has done the same :headbang:

If anyone is in the NW london area and fancies their chances, they'll be £50 and a cup of tea in it, if you get all 3 stripped bolt outs

Otherwise it'll be going to bmw and I'll bend over

Hi .... I had a similar scenario with one of the Allen bolts that hold the metal strip in place which secures the top of the front bumper in the engine bay. Tried a few things without success.
Then I saw a video on Youtube ..... the guy used a chisel to whack a small notch in the head of the bolt. Once you have a notch, angle the chisel to rotate the head anti-clockwise with sharp taps (I used a heavy head hammer). Worked a dream for me.

Thest might be worth a try on those bolts, hammer on an undersize one and crack them open, Mazza has had success using these on his Bognor lean to project thread over on zroadster.org.

I have the exact same issue, does anyone know what these brackets are called i want to replace the whole lot as my bracket is also bent out of shape. :headbang:

If my method above doesn't work, Zedebee's is almost guaranteed to, but it does take some patience.
