having a major crisis

So i have the chance to buy a ESS TS2+ kit. Its a used item coming of a 330 e46 and has done 10k miles. the kit includes the charger cast intake with laminover coolers and the heat exchanger.
The guy wants £2600 i would then need to buy injectors and a bigger pulley to run the kit as just a TS2 and software from ESS. I have been in touch and they will supply all i need but it comes to about £1000. So i think all in i will be looking at £3.5k + import taxes.

Its a lot of cash but its still quite a saving from buying new. But it is a second hand charger and unknown. Really confused and torn on what to do hear.... Its exactly what i want. At a sensible price. But i have a big holiday coming up. It Mrs Monkeys 30th and i have spent all my savings of presents and holidays. Do i say screw it and find the cash somewhere? Or just wait and save and hope one comes up again????

right deal WRONG time.... jesus thats a bargain!! almost TOO cheap. as long as i could see it working and be driven in the car id go for it but damn its come at the wrong time.
 
Tell me about it!! Its off the car so cant see it running witch is a concern.... Obviously i would check it out yeah it is cheap is it cheap because its damaged? The guy says its all tip top?

By my maths i am saving about £1000 from buying it this way.

Tbh I'd expect something like this to be at least a grand cheaper. Let's face it if it was £500 cheaper you'd just buy a new one for peace of mind.!!

Would you ever consider an engine transplant.? Seems quite a few people stick the 4.4 V8 in E46's. I'd love to go down that route.
 
Your right but the ts2+ kit is quite a bit more. I will be running it as a ts2 as you need low compression pistons cams for the ts2+ so maybe latter.

4.4 v8 is a cracking engine. My brother in law has one in his 6 series. I have thought about it. But i like the charger idea more. If i put the V8 in i would then want to charge that!!

What do the engines go for??
 
Trust me don't look there aren't that expensive. Just the headache of wiring and getting it reading correctly on the dash.

Must admit I definitely wouldn't complain about a supercharger :evil: :evil:
 
I have actually seen that engine on Ebay. Too late just looked....

These people do plug in and play looms for a lot of BM stuff. Maybe contact them if you do it

Matt, is that 330ci a saloon? If it's the same car that I saw, it's worth looking into.

Had a lot of tlc until it was written off.
