Somethings awry on my email account & i can only put it down to a dodgy enquiry i had earlier in week for our car we have for sale ,
It was the usual "i'm working overseas & would like to paypal the funds to you so i don't miss out on the car " yeah right
so i gave them this paypal address www.f^^koffyoutimewastingt%%ts.co.uk
i then received a response saying " we have sent the funds to mess you about " ?????
now today i find my pc has been sending random email out to various recipients that i have emailed going back years ?
What should be my next move ?

I would suggest you download the following Malware program:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

Install, update and scan. It will sort out the problem.

Cheers mate / job done & email passwords changed

Bit late i know but never respond to spammers like this - just ignore them as you're the third person I've heard had their computer being targeted, as emails contain the trail of where they've come from. Understand this is used to back track & hunt you down. There r some very serious skills out there, best to keep your head down no matter how smart you think your defences are, since many of them find it a challenge... or an education... to get through.

Stay safe

I usually spot the scammers but this was from a plausible email address , , [email protected] ? hi , is your car still for sale ?
to which i replied "yes" then the next email was the " can i pay you by paypal "
they are a fockn nuisance

Some of it will be simple tracking cookies from sites with less than ideal privacy policies.

Malware bytes generates a log, feel free to send it if you want it looked at

I would change your email password incase it's been compromised

Changed them as soon as i realised what was going on , can't they just repeat the process though ?

What email service do you use? If your's offers dual factor authentication it's worth turning it on. That way you'll get a challenge whenever you log on from a new device for a code that you'll receive via SMS. Works a treat and if someone is trying it on you'll get an SMS as soon as they do.
