Has anyone got Ambient Lighting?

As title, anyone got it?
If you're not aware of the Ambient Lighting package, it's part of the Extended Lighting package, it's the interior added Lighting that includes the interior door handle LED and the strip under/inside the door pocket.
If so do you have a separate menu for it in the Lights settings menu? Like this...

I had it in my last X3. Itโ€™s in the new X3 but they have up the game somewhat, there are 20 colours now, itโ€™s very bright at night. If you look closely the Hardon Karman name lights up on the speakers IMG_6325.jpeg

This is all I see.

Never been into this menu, so as set by previous owner!
 
I had ambient lighting in mine - but it's super subtle, and I don't remember any options in the menus.

It's not like on >2016 cars.

Barely noticeable just as you say and likely a set of basic LEDs.

And on more modern cars the lights are in more places plus you get an absolutely silly number of options as regards choice of colour as well as brightness. The novelty of this wears off quite quickly and you end up on the same setting permanently!
 
Dave hurry up and get a G29! then you can tell me how to modify the ambient lighting in that ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Apparently modding/retrofitting on G Series cars is far more difficult I'm told. But then if I do get a G29, and that is sort of still a possibility, I will be getting a fully spec'd M40i, no need to mod it :rofl: :driving:

Dave, don't worry I found out how to do it through Bimmer Code, I'm sure if you bought a M40i it wouldn't be long before you were tinkering with it :rofl:

Yeah I'm sure there are certain things that are "modable" with things like Bimmercode, Carly, OBD11 etc, but I am aware that certain parts of the newer firmware/software isn't accessible yet. Although there are always ways around that :rofl:

Thank you for that, as expected I didn't think it would be, mainly as my headunit is a 2017 with the most up to date firmware already on it. I'm thinking this was possibly a 3 series "thing", which would mean that it would be in the coding but not possible to activate on an E89.
