Sold some tyres to a wonderful chap on here and i'm driving through his area on my way up to scotland tomorrow.

They're 235/35/19's so pretty big. One goes in the boot fine, but where can I put the other?

It could go on the missus' lap but I don't think she'd be too happy with that for 2 hours

Could I strap it down onto the tailgate? Or is this a very bad idea? Will be sat at 70mph the whole way so would need to be strapped down well.

You would be better having them standing up in boot strap them down if you can. Then tie the boot down if it possible??? Can't you just ditch the missus???

 wish I could, but shes scottish and we're going up to see her family :(

Will give that idea a try now and report back. Cheers matt.

Courier it and don't even consider putting it on the boot. As a minimum it will destroy the paint as it moves around minute amounts, most likley put dents in the boot and possibly even get you a ticket for an unsafe load.

Cost on ebay around £15 per tyre anywhere in UK

Rubbish!!!!! Back to the drawing board...

If its going on the boot lid you will want to protect the paint. And really strap it down!!!

It's 15 quid i'm trying to save the buyer  annoying that I can get 1 and a half in but not 2!

I don't want to take the missus' focus up as it's so boring to drive  would make more sense but it's less fun. May try and persuade her to have it on her lap

Have you got aero skirts?

Get the missus to drive the focus with the tyres, you take the zed on your own. Peace and quiet for two hours each way, win win!!

Ahhh so tyres in the front missus in the boot, still get peace and quiet but only one fuel bill.

 some brilliant suggestions here!

Problem solved. Taking 1 tyre and 2 facelift rear lights, his work courier will take the other. See you tomorrow lukemace :D
