Has any Forum member been out to see this E86?

Although it's listed as a private sale on AT this is actually a trade seller: http://www.askcarsales.co.uk/UsedVehicles.aspx

Anyone had any dealings with Ask Car Sales of Bristol?

Any feedback or comments appreciated.

Hi Lewis,

Sorry I can't help with your questions, but that is a lovely colour combination - Ruby Black looks great in the sun when it is clean! And it has piano black trim as a bonus! (Snails has one that colour that won the photo competition one month, so you can see it at its best if you look at the Forum Calendar)!

Plus the photos seem to suggest it has pdc and the multi-function steering wheel, so what with heated seats, Xenons and folding mirrors that is a pretty good spec.

Mileage is low so if the service history checks out that looks like a really nice example - price isn't excessive from a dealer, but only you can decide if it is worth it!

Good luck anyway.

What's not to like about this Zed, I guess if I was picky the 108s wouldn't be my top choice of alloys but it certainly looks worth a visit - lovely interior with all the toys

Last service April 2015 mileage 55000 the mileage is now 66000 so perhaps service needed
Leather on driver' s seat a little worn. Number plates all hidden so you cannot run MOT history although claimed to be HPI clear so get its reg number and check it . Remember you would probably have to pay service probably along with car tax

Next service should not be a biggie so work that into the deal if you do get to the negotiation stage  also has uprated HiFi which whilst its no BOSE it is sought after

I would guess its a chap dealing privately from home. Drop your little yellow google map man into Park Road where they are based and have a look at the street...

It may well be a reputable guy and honest car, but dont turn up expecting a showroom, Danish pastry and a cappucino !

I'm not far from the dealer (6-7 miles) and it's just off a main high street, but you're wise in doing your homework first

If you're at a loose end and fancy popping over to the dealer.......... :-D :crazydude: :crazydude:

Their Facebook reviews are all extremely positive but it's hard to verify those. I think I might drop them email or give them a call and ask a few questions. Get the reg details and run some checks. As Mr Wilks said, I will need to factor in an imminent service too.

I just don't really fancy a 140 mile round trip for something that is not a very decent example. I did that a few weeks ago, I was told via email this Zed north of London was an very good condition and photos seemed to back it up. But when I saw viewed it, the car was in average condition at best, very disappointing.

Car looks good to me and price is right if all history checks out

Interestingly miles are same as mine and I'm due Insp 2 in Jan - this is coz of time and not miles so bear this in mind when checking the SH - you really need to see the service sequence versus miles and time to determine what service is required next

If I was in the market for one I would be there now with cash making an offer well below 10995 taking it off their hands before Xmas (opportunity?)

Best of luck - as Alan (Number 5 ) says we are both not far so could do a recce :poke:

I see its £10995 on autotrader and £10495 on their website so should be easily less than 10k with an offer

At 66k i would have expected ins2 to have been done :? unless each service was on the limit of its miles at 17k/18k :o meaning possibly only 3 services in 9yrs & almost 70k :?
That said ins1 / ins2 / oil service doesn't have the same bearing as with M cars

Good point, my 3.0si is on 52k and I had inspection2 carried out in the summer

Many do get serviced early or in between & after almost 10yrs + multi owners can easily fall out of the oil - ins1 - oil - ins2 sequence
