Hi I recently bought a hardtop for my Z4 which fitted perfectly, however I assumed from reading various forum topics the heated rear window would work automatically when switched on, are there any electrical connections that need re-routing, your assistance would be appreciated.

regards

Jon

If you look at the two pins on the hardtop that lock into the car by each door you'll see two little connectors with wires. These are your heated rear window connections. Make sure they're connected and not damaged.

Thanks DMC much appreciated, too dark to check this out tonight will have a go tomorrow

Those little connectors can easily slip off - they just push back on. Hope that's the problem as easy fix

Gents thank you I have now connected the HT as described and working fine
Any windnoise?
Was a bit of a chew to get rid of mine but some considered fettling and an old bike innertube helped make it air-tight and supersilent

Hi Chris, no windnoise or rattling, tested with hosepipe and no water ingress, I have checked all seals and they seem fine, the top didnt come with rear covers and a gaping hole at the front by the windscreen, however I managed to insert a black sponge and it looks better than the original plastic insert

I'm pretty sure you can buy the plastic insert to cover the front lock for about a fiver from BMW.
